Pickens County Drug Arrest

On 06/02/2023, deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division (Bravo Team) conducted a traffic stop on Sparks Lane in Pickens.

The vehicle’s driver was identified as Austin Dean Yates, who, according to deputies, was behaving exceptionally nervous when approached by law enforcement.

K-9 Unit, Kona, was deployed and provided a positive alert on Yates’ vehicle.

Upon further investigation, Yates was found to be in possession of a trafficking weight of heroin.

Austin Dean Yates was arrested and charged with Trafficking Heroin.
