Contacting Inmates

The following policy controls inmate communication by telephone and by mail.Telephone:
  • Telephones are provided to inmates for their use on a collect only basis through https://securustech.net/
  • In addition to collect calls, inmates may purchase telephone calling cards through the commissary program.
  • You may choose not to accept a call that is placed to you on a one-time-basis by selecting the appropriate selection once you hear the initial message when an inmate calls.
Mail:
Effective 11/08/2019, Personal Mail will no longer be accepted by Pickens County Detention Center.

All Personal Mail must be addressed in the following manner:

Full Name

A return name and address must be placed on the envelope; failure to properly address the envelope will result in the mail being returned to sender.

Once the mail is received at the Securus Digital Mail Center it will be digitally scanned and either printed, then delivered to the inmate / detainee or available to view on various kiosks and tablets.

Any person wanting to have mail returned to them must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope included with the original mail.

The facility will continue to accept:
  1. Legal Mail
  2. Publications Directly sent in from a publisher, distributor or authorized retailer (as described in the Inmate Handbook and facility procedure)
  3. Money Orders

Commissary FundsThe Pickens County Detention Center operates a commissary for inmates. Certain items can be purchased by inmates through the commissary. The quickest way for family and friends to add to an inmate’s account can now be done online. To add funds to an inmate’s account, simply click here, and follow the on-screen instructions. Be sure to have the inmate’s name and ID number. Be sure to have the receipt sent to your email address for your records.

Fees for an internet deposit will be as follows:
  • $10.00-$25.00 - $3.95
  • $25.01-$100.00 - $6.95
  • $100.01-$200.00 - $8.95
  • $200.01-$300.00 - $10.95
Funds can still be added by using money orders sent to the detention center on behalf of the inmate.
