Pickens County Drug Arrest

On February 7th, 2024, Melanie Cromer McClain was found guilty of Trafficking Methamphetamine 3rd Offense following a jury trial. McClain was then sentenced to 25 years in prison. McClain was initially arrested by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team on October 20th, 2021.

During a traffic stop in the Dacusville area, it was discovered that McClain was attempting to conceal a quantity of methamphetamine from deputies; after further investigation, deputies located additional methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office for prosecuting this case and the deputies of the Community Action Team for their dedication and professionalism.
