Marine Unit

The mission of the Pickens County Sheriff's Office Marine unit is to promote boating safety and protect life and property on the public waterways within Pickens County.  The Marine unit also conducts search and rescue operations, enforces boating safety laws, respond to emergency calls, and investigates boating accidents and criminal activity.  In addition, they provide a safe, enjoyable, and environmentally responsible environment on Lakes Keowee and Hartwell. 

The highly trained men and women of the Pickens County Sheriff's Office are dedicated to providing the highest standard of law enforcement service to the citizens of Pickens County.  The goal of the Pickens County Sheriff's Office Marine unit is to make the waterways safer and more enjoyable for our citizens and guests.
 
The Pickens County Sheriff's Office Marine unit is comprised of Deputies Jonathan Byers, Brandon Morgan, Scott Ticknor, John Ross, Kevin Crowe, J.B. Kelly, Jimmy Bishop, Tyler Bishop, Dale Morgan, and Brady Phillips.  It is operated with a Scout 185 center console boat equipped with several radios that allow deputies to communicate with law enforcement, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and Pickens County Emergency Management.
